TeamKitten.com has had a re-vamp! HOORAY!

Well once again it’s been a while since I have posted on this darn bloggy blog! As usual, lots has been happening in the TeamKitten camp. My sister Jules and partner Woody have had a beautiful baby boy called Sunny! OOh soo cute! He’s been stuck in hospital for a while though, as he is having trouble with his breathing and is on oxygen, but fingers crossed they will get to come home soon! I can’t wait for more cuddles with Sunny!

Also happening – Josh and I are trying to sell our current home and buy a new one! UGHHH! It’s been going okay, we found a place we love and can’t wait to get into it, but just riding time out waiting for contracts to go unconditional. AND to make matters more interesting is that settlement is all occurring around the time of my DUE DATE for magical bub #2!!! What am i thinking? Am i a crazy lady?

In between all these happenings and various playdates and activities with Tyler Jasper (super energetic 2yo toddler #1) I have been working on getting my website back and running. I find it so hard to settle on a design for my own website, so i went down the path of – keep it simple and let the artwork speak for itself! Hopefully it will. I’m excited to get my work back online. I realised i had produced a lot of artwork and not even shown half of it! So slack! Well this website is easy to update so i should stay on top of it! No excuses!

TeamKitten has signed up to Society6, i’ve got a few prints uploaded and a new tee design! I’m super excited about this tee design, i can’t wait to get mine!

> Tyler had his second birthday, we celebrate Mothers Day @ Sushi Train, I had my birthday – Josh took me out to dinner at Marina Mirage – SO YUM, also got treated to a pregnancy massage, sooo good! Josh also started working from home 3 days a week! HOORAY

Rummey Bears – I came across Annas blog a while back, can’t even remember where i initially saw it, she might of posted a comment on someone elses blog so I checked hers out. Anyhoos, I love her photos and stories and of course the fact that she’s a creative soul with a new little bubba! I loved reading her home birth story and how she goes about her life with her new little bear.

Tokyo Bunny has given TeamKitten some link loveage lately. Gawsh she is a busy girl, and I can’t believe we have never met, i think she has been around the interweb traps for a long time – as have I. She seems to be always updating with awesome finds of cuteness and radness. Go check her site out for cuteoverload!!

Meet Me at Mikes

I loove Meet Me at Mikes and i can’t believe i didn’t visit the shop last time i was in Melbourne. Pip posts lots of fun stuff and seems to have many projects on the go. She has written 2 books and I can’t seem to locate them at the moment… hmmm i need to do some investigating. Maybe the first one is sold out?

I can’t do a link love post without mentioning my awesome friend Celeste Ramos.

We met years ago doing textile design for a place in Brisbane, where we both gained so much from there, good and bad! HA! – even though at times it was challenging, we did have lotsa fun moments and I miss sharing my days with her! She has moved on to Canada with her boy Matty and is doing sooo well creatively, I love reading of her travels and bits n bobs of life! You can see more on her blog too.

Hey Folks, the lovely Carolyn at INDY ART has had a re-vamp of the site and TeamKitten is soo very lucky to be in their first feature issue called Feathered. It also features an article on Deb Taylor from Little White Dish who is an amazing ceramic artist. There is also an interview with Kevin Tran and a feature on a hot new mag called Fluoro – “Fluoro is a raw and eclectic biannual design magazine, focused on sustainability and pushing the boundaries of print”.

It’s been a busy month already! So much has been happening in my art world and real world. However it’s late… errr… well it’s only 9:30, but being pregnant it feels like 11:30 at this time of night, so I won’t go into everything that has been happening, so i’ll just post some art and be done with it!

I know this one isn’t really in the colour scheme for autumn, but i was having a yellow and brown day and thought it was fitting for this print.

trying to stick to a colour scheme for a month, or at least for a few designs… Autumn has just begun in Australia and it’s started getting windy and rainy… not that these patterns really reflect that, but i thought the colour scheme would be nice for this time of year

It’s been raining constantly here on the Gold Coast and i’m really loving it. Last night I started working on this pattern for a girls dress for a client, however it didn’t seem to fit, so i just made it into a cute pattern for myself to reflect the lovely rainy days we have been having lately. I hope they are here to stay for a while.

Well we are off to MELBOURNE today! I can’t wait! Going to meet up with Elvira from Villian store and talk about getting some prints and things in the shop. YAY! We have been doing email talks for ages and finally have the chance to catch up.
Tonight we are going to see Faith No More! OMG! Soo excited about that! Going to be an amazing show… can’t wait to see Mike Patton in all his glory!
We are also going to attend Buffet Trade Show Buffet is the first tradeshow and public expo in the Asia-Pacific region dedicated to Streetwear//Sneakers//Contemporary Style & Culture//Design//T-Shirts//Accessories and much more. Busy times ahead!

Well Feb is almost at an end and once again I have terribly neglected my blog Lots has been happening in TeamKitten land so I know I can be forgiven.
Finally just finished my co-lab with Kustom shoes HOORAY! Can’t wait to see the samples, might take a while, but I will be posting pics as soon as I can.
Also have been helping my friend Erin Mercer (actually she is my sisters friend but I have adopted her as my own now! HA!) with a little blog and flyer for a fundraiser to help children and teens in Cambodia. The blog doesn’t look that exciting at the moment, i’m not that good at customizing them, but the flyer and cute pattern I made make up for that!

I also created this cute little pattern for them, i’m not sure how or if it will get used, but i couldn’t help it… i just started playing around and it turned out so cute, might be nice on a tote bag even?!

Well over the past few months I have come across quite a few blogs from crafty mums out there and am just blown away by how much they do as well as look after a home and family.
Since I had Tyler I dropped off the art world a little bit. Sure I had a few cool contract jobs here and there and even exhibited a few times, but i felt creatively in a little slump. I haaate feeling like that. Trying to manage time with a toddler is challenging. My week seems to comprise of getting out of the house around 9ish to various toddler activities, come home for stories then nap. Nap time usually goes well, however I am guilty of just veging out in that time. I feel bad that I am not more productive, but to be honest, after the mornings wheelings and dealings, i then have lunch and a cuppa tea (if i’m lucky, something sweet to go with) – who can be faffed working or creating? Well I am going to start being more pro-active. Instead of sitting on the net looking at everyone elses amazing escapades in art, craft and family life, i’m going to be pulling my finger out!
January seems to be a time of year where everyone reflects back on the last year and sets the goals for the next… I haven’t got that far and now it’s Feb already! YIKES! I better get a move on. My friend Ab calls this time of year the January Depression, and while I am not depressed I think the heat just got to me… OOH and being 5 months preggers again might have something to do with it!

Bring on Autumn and Winter! I can’t wait to wear some cute cardigans!

Hello my lovelies!
Starting the year off with a bang and designing some Thongs for Kustom! Thongs as in those things that go on your feet, not g-string thongs silly! Although i would still design g-strings if the right brief popped into my lap!
It’s early days yet, but i thought i would pop a post in about it.
