I’ve realised i haven’t updated this blog in aaaaages. I’ve had a few jobs on the go,and some new crazy ideas i’ve been experimenting with…all of which takes up my limited time. New ideas are fun but they sure are consuming and can be a lot of hit n miss my friends,but if i craack it,ohh so rewarding. I’ve also been toying with the idea of hitting the market circuit on the gold coast. YIKES! I’ve always been the first to admit i’m not the kind of person who could sit at a market stall in the hot summer while people walk past with hands in pockets wondering what i am doing trying to sell my wares…BUT I visited a friend down at the Bundall Farmers Markets and i stayed with her for a while and I actually thought ‘Hey,wake up lady! This could be a good opportunity! At least give it a go and get your lazy bum and artwork out there!! STAT!’Now that Juni is getting older and doesn’t require me 24/7 I think it’s time to break away for a little weekend market action. But before i can do it,i need to gather lots of prints and other secret TeamKitten goodies together. I’ll keep you kittens updated when i start becoming a market carny so you can watch me freaking out.
Other things i’ve been getting into lately have been -had an interview with Kristie fromPony Anarchy mag,it’s a cute online mag about creative folk. Yehar! -drawing drawing drawing,except for the last few days my sketchbook is full again -working on illustration proposals -illos for a calendar collaboration for 2013 -lots of park,play dough and block action -during the holidays we went to Mcintosh Park and saw the puppet show –Tyler loved it and Juni amazingly sat for the whole time too -we watched Beyond the Black Rainbow (very weird psychedelic science fiction movie) don’t worry didn’t watch this with the kids! -also finally watched Arrietty,we watched it in Japanese with english subs and the kids still seemed to enjoy it,i just had to tell them what was happening but they still seemed to dig it. Have you seen it? Do you love Studio Ghibli movies? We do! -i’m loving Zoe Foster. she used to be the beauty editor for Cosmopolitan and Harpers BAZAAR,but these days she writes books and blogs for mamamia
Things coming up are Tylers birthday NEXT WEEK! Jeepers he’s going to be 4 years old! He’s practically moving out of home! OH MY! May is jam packed as it’s my birthday too! wootwoot! Here is a little spam post with my kidlets…
It’s a friday night and i’m leaving the house! woot woot. Well actually it’s early morning and Juni is still sleeping so i’m catching up on some work. But tonight,YES i am going to a DESIGN TALK at Rabbit and Cocoon in Miami! Josh is seeing a band in Brisbane and we have a babysitter! OMGOSH! I almost wasn’t going to go when I found out it was on the same night that Josh had already planned to go out,but he insisted and my lovely friend Tam from Gold Coast Taste Tours said she would come look after the kidlets! Phew! I’m excited about all the speakers but especially Dominique Falla,Claudio Kirac,Kiel Tillman,Paul Everest,Jolie Jertzberg,Luke Brown and Rob Bare. Yup that’s all of them. I couldn’t list just a few and not the others!
Then we are both off to Analogue Digital in the Sunshine Coast in May! Can’t wait for that one!!!
hi kittens,here’s a little quickie i did last night and just coloured up while Juni is sleeping. i like her,i think her name is Lilly and she likes flowers!

One i created while tyler was a sick boy and all he wanted to watch was Adventure Time (only the best cartoon around these days!) I was inspired by watching it so much I had to do Marceline the Vampire Queen. She rocks. The other illo is just a happy valentines one between best friends…awww
thursday today,i should be taking Tyler to kindy and basking in 1 child glory for the day with Juni,but instead he is banging a stick on the studio window…he’s had a cough and runny nose since tuesday but seems pretty good today PHEW! But still not 100% better,so we will stay home.
the fam all went down the coolangatta on sunday to visit Ben from comb artspace. we are verrry excited because we are planning a show down there for september. i sooo can’t wait. josh and i haven’t had a show by ourselves EVERRR! so stay tuned for more details coming soon. we had some mexican lunch and then headed to the beach,which was soo nice…until,poor Tyler got bowled over by some waves. he’s never been keen on swimming or going out far in the beach but totally loves having a play in the whitewash. BUT NOW he’s going to hate it even more! YIKES! He was very distraught afterwards and we had to pack up and head home.
almost forgot to mention i did some sewing on saturday with the lovely ladies from ohsewrosy Amy and Deb. i made a super cute floor cushion and it was fairly easy too,even for my limited sewing skills. i also got to see the lovely nadia –her cushion looked amazing. i’ll try and take some pictures of it today if i can reef the kidlets off it!
Just a little post,tonight i am off to babysit my gorgeous nephew Sunny! He’s the same age as Juniper (3 weeks apart) and super duper cute! Had a bit of a crappy start to the week,hard times with Tyler J,just being a whingy yelling toddler n all that. I had a moment of wanting to put him in Kindy full time and go get a real job *YIKES*,but then i’d have to do it for Juni too and don’t want to do that! Luckily i got over that thought and will move onwards and upwards with my work from home and try to make the most of my time here…and just keep thinking ‘this is just a passing phase’…
i am still loving this rainy wet weather we are having here…it’s been super perfect conditions for staying indoors and drawing and drinking too much tea n coffees… i think our little getaway to sydney was also very inspiring to me,just to have a change in the regular routine for a few days,was a breath of fresh air. Ahh i need to do that more!
i don’t often post my sketches,but i have sooo many i’m going to start doing it. i have books full of them,some are crappy some are cool…some are plain weird. here’s a few from lately
dear kittens,long time between posts…it’s sunday afternoon here,Juni is sleeping,Tyler is playing games and it’s raining –i’ve got a cup o coffee and ready for a quick blog post.

josh and i went to Sydney for a quick ADULTS ONLY trip to see the super amazing Mike Patton’s Mondo Cane. If you don’t know what it is,please check out this youtube video –he is simply amazing!
The show was amazing. It was at State Theatre which is a beautiful venue,i would love to see more performances there,but i’m not sure they could top what we saw. I highly doubt anything could top what we saw. Am i saying amazing too much? Well that’s because it was! After the show on the Monday night we met up with friends and the night didn’t end until very early in the morning on a rooftop of a crazy apartment block –good night with lots of shenanigans,this happens when you have been captive in home with 2 small kids for a long time.
OMG it’s christmas time soo soon! It’s come along so fast,i can’t believe it.
I’ve started WALKING in the MORNING! Gasp! And i’m loving it! I’m going *almost* everyday between 5am –6am for about 20 to 30 mins. Lots of silly hills up my way so it’s a good walk and a great way to start the day. I like listening to podcasts…do you know any good ones to make me laugh or motivate me to start the day? I’ve found a few that sound good but turn out to be duds
Already have lots of projects coming up for next year to work on,going to be very exciting.
