Can you believe it’s almost the end of the year?!! Can’t believe how fast this year has gone, now that my days and weeks seem to revolve around the school terms and holidays. This has been our first year of Prep for TJ and it’s over in just a week! I remember his first day and how scared I was for him –only because he is a sensitive soul. Anyhoos he has done amazingly well and we couldn’t be prouder of him!
Bring on the holidays –and a road trip to Mackay! YIKES! 12 hours of pure …i don’t know what! I’ve never done a road trip with 2 kids for THAT long. Sometimes just doing the school run is murderous! mmm well i will keep you posted.
In the meantime I was very productive this weekend making a really cute and happy design with some cameras. I created these cameras a few months ago when I was in Lilla Rogers MATS cours, but wanted to simplify the design –i know it doesn’t look simplified, but it is! I just uploaded it to spoonflower to see what it will look like as fabric!! Can not wait to get these samples in! Putting it out into the universe my desire to get my designs printed on fabrics FOR REAL!!

One of my new friends Ine, has been working on a 40 day lettering challenge and i think it’s a fab idea…She’s great at it,does something new everyday! I however am not so good, although I usually do sketch something up daily, it stays in my sketchbook. I’ve got to learn to work faster, get my sketches scanned so i can create more awesome work and pop it online!
I made this sketch yesterday in the car while waiting to pick up Tyler from school, Juni was snoozing in the back (read: snoring!). I have a few friends who are pregnant and even though they aren’t new mammas i thought this sounded like something new mums would like to hear! short and sweet! x
this happened on the weekend! OMG! A new kitty!
It’s been about 2 and a half years since we had to say goodbye to my little Honey cat who i had for 17 years –she was just a kitten when mum brought her home for me. We went through a lot together, but then she started to go downhill in her old cat life, kidney problems and just general oldness. It was very sad,but at least i can say she lived a good happy kitty life with Josh, me and then the kids.
I couldn’t go out and get another kitty straight away, i needed time and we actually enjoyed not having cat hair on everything, or clean up cat mess (Honey thought it was hilarious to poop and wee wherever she liked –even on benchtops! ugh) BUT this past weekend we thought it was time, we had been looking at the Animal Welfare League and Friends on the Pound for months, searching, looking and then we stumbled across this little cutie and it was love at first site! We couldn’t go back!
Welcome Mei Mei
Today I would love to share my Sunshine –Themed Art Prints that are designed to uplift and inspire everyone ^,^
You are My Sunshine –The main purpose of this art print is to give all of you a daily dose of sunshine… happy feeling… to start your day! This is my best seller at markets, everyone loves the vibes of that happy sunshine dude!
Here Comes the Sun – to inspire us that the sun is always shining…don’t lose hope, as there’s always rainbow after the rain.
I love the Sun – this art print is an energy booster. It would never fail to make you more cheery and happy!
Loads has been happening since my last blog post.
Here’s a quick run down in point form with some pics! How has your past month been??
Featured on Finders Keepers Blog –Check it out, cool images with a little Q n A.I had my debut stall at Finders Keepers in Brisbane and it was SUPER Ace fun!! Thank’s so much to everyone who bough a print and stopped in to say Hiya to me and my mate Tam. We had a blast and will be sure to be at the next one in Brissy.I have been back to school –Lilla Rogers Make Art that Sells School. It’s been really intense and so rewarding and exciting. I have just completed part A and i will post some of the work I created during the course.
This was for the first assignment for fabric and I loved working on it –the theme was vintage kitchen incorporating (if we wish –casserole dishes and mushrooms from our mini exercises!) I also participated in the Global Talent Search to win representation with Lilla Rogers (which has been a dream of mine for ooh about 5 years!) –however i didn’t get shortlisted and although i was a sad sack for a night,I woke up feeling much better the next day and ready to soldier on and be my own “Mover and Shaker”!!
The ones selected are amazing and i’m happy to see some of my fav artists and friends are in there! Hooray! I can’t wait to see how they go with the next challenge! I have been working on making my website/blog/shop a bit more cohesive and nicer to look at. It’s always a work in progress,i’ve still got a few kinks to iron out. Check out my portfolio…i’ve got it linked to my tumblr –very snazzyJosh and I have finally been catching up on Breaking Bad –omg how did we not watch this one earlier? We literally started from season 1 only about two months ago and were hooked!!I made my first Pea and Ham soup and it was DELISH!!Going forward in my art plans –I still want to keep forging my path in the art licensing world,I am even more determined than ever. I have had some amazing collaborations in the past with my art and I am looking forward to what the future brings too!!Dealing with Juniper and her 3 year old antics have been interesting –she is a ball of exciting energy and chaos. We are also getting her tested for sleep apnea and hopefully if we get that sorted it might help with her intense crazytimes in the day –once she finally has a good night sleep!
There is still always more to report but i’m running out of time, about to go on the school run! Going to try and give myself a challenge of updating this blog twice a week. Let’s see if I can stick with it! Anyone got any tips on how to get regular on the blogosphere?
